RealBasic Based Applications

HOTicker - This application will track your stocks, it supports a simple portforlio.  Stock information is extracted from Yahoo or Motley Fool.  A chart showing 1 or 5 day trends is also available. Two types of tickers are supported, a window localized ticker as shown below or a global floating ticker which stays above all applications.

This final version runs on 68K and PPC up to OS 9+.  Version 1.0 is no longer supported, I've moved my efforts to the carbonized 2.0 version.

This is a Carbon application, it's built using the current alpha release of RealBasic 3.0 as denoted by the version number (ie 2.0a14 was built with RealBasic 3.0a14, etc).  This will work under OS-X Public Beta, however remember it is alpha software and may crash or exhibit weird behavior.

If you are not using OS-X then I suggest using version 1.0 until 2.0 becomes more stable.

Metrowerks Based Applications

BugOff - Screen saver/security with network message sending to other BugOff users, built-in reminders, auto shutdown, folder watching, folder protection, and dual-password capability. Supports Macintalk.

  • BugOff-1.3.3.sit

  • GetPath - A simple little program which will copy the full path name of the selected file or files to the clipboard.  Don't ask for updates to this puppy since I lost the source code 9 years ago.

  • GetPath-1.3.1.sit

  • Simon - Home control program which controls my house.  It includes support for X10 using either the CP-290 one way interface or the TW-523 two-way interface.  In addition it also announces incoming calls via caller-id lookup.  Support for Apple's speech recognition and synthesis is also included. This package is designed to run on a 68K or PPC Macintosh which runs 24 hours per day.  See the built-in documentation for more information.  Simon is currently under development and probably will remain there forever at this rate.

  • Simon-1.0d28.sit - Main program.

  •
  • Area.dat - Area code database for Maryland.

  •
  • TW523.dat - Example TW523 response file.

  •
  • Devices.dat - Example device definition file.
